July 2020 Reflections

Hello!

So I think July had been a very busy and stressful month for me mainly because of work. Because of that, I’ve been feeling tired and less interested and motivated to do many things. Don’t get me wrong, I am thankful that I have a job and a stable income especially during this time of pandemic. But I have been having some difficulties because I had to take on the job for about three people because my teammates were transferred to other Units so that has been stressing me out and putting a lot of pressure on me because tasks keep springing up and I feel very out of control of everything that’s been going on. And I’ve only started my role last March so I’m still trying to learn when these tasks were piled up onto my existing tasks.

And because my work life had greatly taken up my time this July, I think my July had been quite tiring and stressful. I have to re-learn how to handle things better so that my life would become more balanced.

Anyways… I have also been spending a lot this month because as I’ve previously shared, I had learned about online banking and e-money apps so because I have been wanting to buy a lot of things, I’ve also been spending more. Most of the things that I’ve been spending on are Kpop albums, BTS content, and stationery. I have also bought the Army Bomb MOTS version and I have already placed my order for my Army Bomb version 3 and I will probably receive it by the first week of August. I’m actually still planning to buy other lightsticks and albums but since I’ve spent a lot this July, I have decided to try to buy them after my finances have recovered a bit. I hope my self-control will be better in the coming months because I really have to be smarter with my money.

I hope I can find a better balance for myself in the coming months and I really hope that this pandemic ends soon because I really want things to go back to normal already. I think there will be a lot of things to look forward to in August so I’m excited for it.

That’s all for now, bye!

Thoughts: “What You Waiting For” by Somi

Photo taken from Google Images.

Hello!

Somi had recently released her music video for “What You Waiting For” last July 22.

I first learned about her comeback after seeing Blackpink promote it on their Instagram account. Since I liked “Birthday”, I got a bit excited about her comeback.

Coincidentally, last July 22, her music video was recommended on my Youtube feed so I immediately clicked on it to check it out.

First of all, I liked the song. I thought that it was really catchy. It was also impressive how much different it felt and sounded from “Birthday”. It was more mature and I think it fit her new image more because it seemed edgier and more grown up instead of leaning on the more cutesy stuff. The message of the song also seems a bit more grown up because based on the English translations, the song was about liking someone but that person hasn’t told him/her how he/she felt. Because of that, the person is upset and starts to doubt the other person’s feelings.

Second, I think Somi tried a new singing technique for this song because she sounded the same but at the same time different. I can’t really explain it well but I think it really suited the song and showed her versatility as a performer.

Third, the music video looked good. It was darker and less colorful but it really suited the song’s feelings. Also, she didn’t have as much outfits compared to the “Birthday” music video but I think her outfits here looked way better and more expensive. She also looks really pretty and more grown up here. Her light brown hair color really suits her. I also liked her expressions because she looked like someone who was really upset so she was disconnected from the people around her who were having a good time.

Although, I noticed that she seemed to have lost a noticeable amount of weight. I hope she’s keeping healthy.

All in all, I liked the music video and the song. I’ve been repeatedly watching it and listening to the song because it’s currently stuck in my head which makes me want to listen to it over and over again. I’m looking forward to watching her perform this song on stages because I really like it. I’m also looking forward to her outfits for her performances because I hope that they’ll look as good and classy as her outfits in the music video.

That’s all for now, bye!

Thoughts: BTS 2020 Festa

Photo taken from Google Images.

Hello!

From June 1 to 13, we were treated to two weeks of BTS 2020 Festa contents. I was actually unable to keep track of all releases and posts because I was going to work during week one and on week two, I was really busy while working from home.

I was able to see and listen to bits during the weekdays but I watched most of the Youtube contents on June 13. I had a BTS 2020 Festa marathon that day.

This was my first BTS Festa as an Army and I was really excited about it.

Profile Photos

I saw the complete profile photos uploaded on their Facebook page. I really wish that I could understand Korean because I want to be able to read what they wrote and understand it. Because of this, I’m more motivated to step up studying Korean so that I can easily read and understand. Also, I had it saved so that I can learn reading from it.

Family Portraits and Photo Collection

I also the family portraits and photo collection on their Facebook page. I loved all the photos. The portraits were really cute and fun which I thought captured their personalities well and they were really visually aesthetic. For the photo collection, it was nice to look back at their previous year’s memories.

“Still With You” by Jungkook

I first listened to the song last June 7 which was about two days late because the song was released on June 5. But I liked it. It kind of had a slow romantic Italian or Spanish song feel for me. It actually feels quite sad especially because there was like a rain pouring sound at the beginning and I think on some other parts of the song. It was really soft but I could kinda hear it. But the message of the song was really sweet. I think it’s a song for Armys. It seems like Jungkook was singing about his love for Armys and that he wants to stay by our side even as years go by. I guess he really cherishes the love and support of Armys.

“We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal” music video

I first watched the music video on June 13. I’ve already previously listened to the song which is why when I saw that we were getting a music video for it, I was really happy.

I actually loved this song because they reflected on their past struggles until they were able to reach their current status. But they didn’t forget to thank their Armys who supported them through it all

The music video was animated and the animation was really nice. I was not an Army when they started but thanks to this video, I got to learn a lot more about their struggles through this video. I actually researched a lot of the references made throughout the video and it really broke my heart at the amount of struggles that they had to go through. I think their current status and success is well-deserved.

Choreography Uploads

For the Anpaman dance summer version, I thought that it was so cute because they seemed to be having fun. They were just vibing and just enjoying.

For the Dionysus stage rehearsal and 2018 MAMA rehearsal, even if they were just doing their rehearsals, they were really doing their dances well and they were really passionate in their dancing. Even if they were aware of being filmed, I really appreciated the hard work that they put into their performances even if it was just for a rehearsal.

Answer: BTS 3 Units

Until today, I haven’t fully watched these three videos because I’ve been finding hard to focus on watching interviews lately. But I had these videos saved as well because I want to watch them fully when I can concentrate better.

Map of the Song 7

This video came at a perfect time for me because I was missing Run BTS. The video was so funny because they were just having fun and singing karaoke. I also loved how competitive they were about getting prizes. They were really chaotic in this video but it was nice to watch.

BTS 2020 Festa Anniversary Day Video

This was actually the only video that I watched on the day that it was released. I wasn’t able to watch their first anniversary video but it was so cute that during the preparation for their anniversary party, they were assigned the same tasks that they had as their first anniversary party preparation.

I also loved the heart to heart because I felt like I got to know them more through that because they were opening up about what was on their minds given the topics that they picked. Also, I was really touched at what Namjoon said about being thankful for new Armys even if we weren’t there since they debuted.

All in all, I thought the BTS Festa was a nice way to celebrate with the boys. It was also a nice thing to look forward to especially during this pandemic because despite the unpleasant things that have been happening, this is a good thing to see. It kind of takes your mind off of the stress and negativity of the unpleasant things.

That’s all for now, bye!

New Year, New Decade

Hello!

Happy New Year!!!

I can’t believe another year has ended and we’re now at the beginning of a new year and a new decade.

2019 seemed to fly by fast but at the same time there were times that I felt like time was so slow. I guess this was due to the fact that there had been so many events that went on. Some of these events were good and some were bad but I think in the end they helped in letting me get to know myself better.

Last year I was able to try a lot of new things which surprised me a lot because some of the things I’ve tried, I was so hesitant to do at first either because I was scared or I believed that it wasn’t for me. What surprised me was that some of these things were quite fun and apparently, there was nothing to be scared of. With this, I learned to be more adventurous and to try more things because I suddenly felt like what else was I missing out on?

I also learned how strong I really was because I was able to get through all of the challenges and setbacks that I had last year. Despite wanting to give up so many times, I still pushed on. Last year was a year wherein I truly felt defeated and burned out especially in my career life. But I didn’t give up and I pushed myself to be stronger and braver.

I was also super inconsistent last year because I tended to lose motivation because of the challenges that I was facing. I couldn’t find the proper motivation to keep me going because I felt so helpless and tired. But I still tried to push myself because I believe and hope that everything will get better.

So since this is a new year and 2020 is the beginning of a new decade, I decided to make my resolutions simpler and more focused on self-improvement and being positive and happy. In the previous years, I had very specific resolutions that I made because I felt like those were things that I wanted to improve on but I wasn’t super sure if all of them would make me happy. Sure, they all would help me improve because most of them were health-related but I realized that they were also super specific and there were so many of them that it became difficult for me to keep up.

So this year, I made three resolutions:
1. Be more positive
I know that in the previous years that I had already been making this resolution. But the difference now is that I have plans to achieve it now compared to before when I only had a reason and motivation to do it.

So to be more positive, I hope to stop thinking negatively and to stop anticipating negative outcomes. I know that I have a tendency to become a pessimist because whenever I am given a task, future problems that might be encountered are the first things that come to my mind. I also have a tendency to feel scared of new things because my mind thinks that I might fail or that I might not be able to finish tasks.

That’s something that I want to change because I think that this limits what I do and accomplish in life because I always feel so scared of rejection and failure. So I tend to stop myself from trying something new or I feel scared to take a leap of faith. It also affects my ability to be in the moment and enjoy everything because I’m afraid of what might happen.

So now, I want to more positive and keep having good and positive vibes to be able to enjoy life more fully and be able to take risks and leaps of faith that would hopefully lead me to success and happiness.

2. Be more productive
This is also another resolution that I’ve had for a long time now because I’ve always been the type of person who want to accomplish more and to do more. But again, I always had why I wanted to do this but not how I could do this.

This year, I decided to be more productive by being consistent in finishing the things that I do. I tend to get overwhelmed with the amount of things that I need to do especially in my career life whenever multiple tasks pile up and deadline get closer and closer. I know that this is also brought about my inability to say no and keep saying yes whenever I am presented with tasks. Again, this stems from my fear of not being in control and my fear of failure and disappointing others.

So this year, I will be working on those fears so that I can also be more productive and focus more on what really matters. I will also push myself by setting myself deadline in finishing tasks that I set up for myself because whenever I don’t give myself deadlines, I tend to take a long time or I lose interest. This is evident with my lack of blog posts last year because whenever I would start, I would keep putting things off until eventually they wouldn’t get done.

I also plan on using my weekends wisely by not sleeping all day or lying down on my bed because they are the only times that I have where I don’t have work and I could accomplish more personal to dos. Since my weekdays are usually spent at work and I have to leave early to get to work and I tend to get home late because traffic is really bad in my country, I should spend my time wisely to be able to do more things that I need and want to do. This would boost my motivation since I would feel more accomplished instead of sluggish and the same time, it might hep in boosting my self-esteem and confidence again after they took a hit due to the previous year’s events.

3. Be more adventurous
Since I allowed myself to try more things last year, I wanted to continue that into the new year because I know that this would open me up to more opportunities and to new experiences. I don’t want to live a monotonous life given that I learned that I need to have a life outside of my career life so that I could be relaxed and not stressed all the time.

So I think that these three resolutions would really help me have a better year ahead and hopefully I could maintain this throughout the rest of the year because I want to leave all the negative things that happened last year in the past. I want to move forward and be happier.

I feel like this will be a good year for me and I want to welcome it because I’m so ready for positive changes.

That’s all for now. And happy new year once again!

I hope we’ll all have an amazing year ahead.

Bye!
